What
is Mid-South Hunting and Fishing News?
Over 20 years ago the
Mid-South Hunting Fishing News began as a way to provide the
region's sportsmen with local outdoor news they couldn't get
anywhere else.
Things haven't changed. Today
we're still bragging about our accomplishment -- providing,
"outdoor news that's right outside your back door."
For those unfamiliar with the
geographics of our coverage area -- the Mid-South -- it's best
defined with Memphis, Tennessee as the center. Next, go west to
Little Rock, Arkansas, east to Nashville, Tennessee, south to
Jackson, Mississippi and north to Paducah, Kentucky. We are
interested in "any and everything outdoors" within this region
and want to share such know-how or happenings with our readers.
From our office in Brownsville,
Tennessee, we publish a glossy-covered magazine that goes to all
our subscribers and over 2,000 regional newsstands. Each issue
includes over 50 fishing reports from lakes and rivers in
Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri and
Alabama. The reports describe water conditions, what the various
species are biting, tactics for the specific time and contact
numbers for the very latest.
All issues also include: how-to
and where-to articles by the Mid-South's most knowledgeable and
renowned outdoor writers; news from the region's fish and game
departments; Solunar Tables, for peak hunting and fishing times;
fish and game recipes; classified advertising; tournament
results and calendars; outdoor photo contests; new product
information; and much more.
In an age when most mainstream
media has put outdoors coverage on the back burner, MSHFN is
filling a void--providing our readers, "outdoor news they can
use."
