TWRA Bowhunter NBEF Class Aug. 16 In Jackson, TN
The
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will have a bowhunter
education class (NBEF) at the TWRA Region I office at Lake
Graham, near Jackson, Tenn.
Class
times will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with approximately one hour
for lunch.

Delta Waterfowl Town Hall Meeting Aug. 23 Sportsman’s Warehouse,
Memphis
The
Mid-South Chapter of Delta Waterfowl will hold its 2008 Delta
Waterfowl Town Hall Meeting at 4 p.m. on August 23 at
Sportsman’s Warehouse on Winchester Road in Memphis. The meeting
will be led by Delta’s President Rob Olson.
However there are many other activities to be held throughout
the day to coincide with the day.
There will be food and refreshments throughout the day with
drawings for prizes every hour, ending with a drawing for a
shotgun.
Scheduled events include: 9 a.m. - doors open; 10 a.m. -
meet-greet with Delta’s President Rob Olson; 11 a.m. - Kelly
Haydel, youth duck calling; noon - Fred Greenslade, Outdoor
Photography; 12:30 p.m. - Cypress Creek Outdoors, videography; 1
p.m. - retriever training, J. Paul Jackson; 2 p.m. - Avery
Outdoors; 3 p.m. - Kelly Haydel, calling ducks; 4 p.m. - town
hall meeting with Olson; 7 p.m. - Delta members only sale.
Legends Of Outdoors National Hall of Fame Banquet Aug. 29 In
Nashville
Legends of the Outdoors National Hall of Fame will be held
August 29 at the Music City Sheraton in Nashville, Tenn.
Slated
to be inducted this year are: Jimmy and Chris Houston, Preston
Pittman, Wally Marshall, Jerry Martin, George Cochran, and Tom
Knapp.
Special guests will include Outdoor singing star Kevin Weldon
and Rick Revel who will be portraying Davy Crockett.
Several Awards will be given out at this years event including:
The
Tennessee Outdoors Sportsman Award: TWRA Director Gary Myers;
The American Outdoors Sportsman Award - Dr. John Waples Kids
Hunting for a Cure;
American Organization of the Year for Outdoor Achievement Award:
Southeastern Outdoor Press Association.

Wings Over Prairie Fest, World Championship Duck Calling Contest
Nov. 28-29
The
73rd Annual World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest and Wings
Over The Prairie Festival will be held in Stuttgart, Arkansas
Nov. 28-29.
Each
year, approximately 35,000 visitors attend the event. For more
